The commercials and females&males

In other documentry we watches how the males and females are imposed. Like men are always in the position of dominanr character ruling over. Always ready for the dangers, strong and independent. And generally dominant over the woman. Their postures are straight, self-conscious, hands tight or aroundthe woman. And they are usually alone or active. Always like had a purpose in the life. On the other hand women are always imposed in the pasified positions. Like laying on the floor or couchs, arms away from the body like open to dangers, unable to protect themselves, weak, childlike and invulnarable. Thats how women look sexy. They touch objects as they stand still in their hands, angel like positions. Open mouths, weak and elegant hands holding things without squizing them. On the other hand man hold things as they possess them, controll over them. Furthermore, in the examples of the documantry, women usually touch themselves as they are things cant be avoid to touch and men never do that. there are examples that men use women postures, naked, laying down, touching themselves which created disturbance in all of us. That shows how the commercials have great influeces on us and our prejudices.

the masculanity

We watched some video's in the clasroom lately. That showed how masculanity and being harsh got important last 50 years. It was always a great matter for men to be menlike. Being feminin was inacceptable. In the video there were some scenes from movies that men overreacted  to the accusations of being girllike. And also humiliating each other with calling each other "girly" or somethings. It showed some examples of how guns got bigger men got bigger and more muscled and violance increased as like they were the signs of masculanity and testesteron. Also in the toys the weapons and the size of the arms(muscles) got huge and imposed the new generations that it's better to be emotionlesss, strong, violent and harsh. And all these documentries showed how things get dangerous.

The more you substract the more you add

The other mention in this reading was "Cutting Girls Down to Size". What does that mean? What could encourage girls  to loose weight and make them look like models? Well according to the texts, there are several reasons, like in media and popular culture. In the daily life female's are expected to be beautiful, away from masculanity, be sexy attractive and mostly that's provided with vulnarablity. Being thin and more beautiful became the most important part of female teenagers life. Not only the teenagers the age limit lowed so much that little girls started to wear and act like grown women, make make-ups, talk about boys and even the games evolved that way. Like "Special Night Barbies" tells them to be sexy and wait for male's dominance because thats the way to get acceptence. Furthermore the seek for being more beautiful causes eating disorders, depression even alcholism. These factors creates larger destructions. Not only the media and popular life even in our culture we can see the signs of this inequality. The general expectation is to be silent, obedient for women. So it's the case that should be argued if it's right to keep up with the majority or reject this inequality in order to be "free".

Reality TV and the effects in human relations

Reality Tvs, reality shows have been a great deal lately. It has been very hard to find someone who can say that he or she has never watched a show like that. It's kind a fact that we all do watch them and mostly enjoy. Even the educated one's spend some time to watch that kind of emptiness what about the regular people? What about housewifes and unemployeds? What about the ones who barely finds things to spend their time effectively?
Well, the answer is clear. Huge amount of people watches that kind of programmes and the more they are watched the more they are produced. But the realy issue is the consequences of that action. Do we really consider the harms of the reality shows in public life?
As we can easily comprehend,  even though they are based on a format actually the Reality shows are made from real events. Or the actions which were made to be seem real. As a result the effects is naturally more powerful than the fiction programmes. Like series or movies. The feelings and reactions are so overshowed that people start to underestimate the real feelings and behaviors. It effects the real human relationships. People start to have difficulties in thrusting each other because there is always examples like Survivor who occasionaly "screw" each other. Lying Starts to seem natural. People starts to avoid making eye contacts. Relationships get more and more artificial.
Unfortunately the bad effects are not over, it also effects the family life. families only together activities have become watching TV last few years. And the real conversations became about who would win the American Idol during the prime time. It's quiet a pitty that it's the only time families can find time to spend together that is used in discussing irrelevant temporary fames. It's how we actually forget how to communicate with the ones we  really love. Or is it the fact the strenght of love reduces with tv too...

The Enormous Radio and the effect of spying other people's lifes

"The Enormous Radio" is a story that subconsciously summarizes the influence of realty shows on todays community. The addiction of  watching other peoples lifes were symbolized with Irene's thoughts and behaviours. Her depression and lack of pursuit and purpose pushed her to an addiction and started to push her away from her own reality. The radio was her only activity her only link with the active life. The music was the way she could express her lonelyness and tghe way she could pursuade herself that she was happy enough and she had everything she had and the opportunity of listening classical music was a privilege fo rher and Jim to seperate theirselves from their neighbours and friends. The uncommon fault of the radio disturbed Irene at first and she felt like she heard somethings she weren't suppose to hear and it created the feeling that anybody could listen to them too without letting them know about that. So she started to behave paranoidly and warn her  husband to talk quietly very often. The first influence of radio in her behaviors changed slowly to an addiction and obsession. Once she started to be aware of the events happening in the apartmant she wanted to learn more she wanted to follow the rest she wanted to learn the consequences of the events. And that was the beginning of a dreadful ending...
